That white, chalky substance in your kettle is called limescale. It forms as a result of built-up calcium deposits that occur when water with its naturally high calcium levels evaporates. Although limescale is not harmful to your health, if you don't wash it out, it can build up and eventually clog your kettle's spout.

This genuine anti-scale filter is found in the front of your kettle behind the spout and its purpose is to stop limescale entering drinks providing fresher water and high quality taste.

Removing the limescale from inside your kettle will keep it clean and reduce the amount of damage it can eventually cause.
