If you find your existing Chain is dull and the blade is burning its way through wood, then the Chain will need replacing. A new Chain cuts well with very little force on the bar, while a dull chain tends to ride in the cut without deepening it. To perform its job safely and reliably, the chainsaw chain must fit without being too slack and without too much tension.

It’s time to replace the chain when the longest portion of the cutting tooth is less than 4mm or if you find cracks.
